Welcome to Baked Better!

I’m Stephanie, the baker behind Baked Better, and my goal is to provide you with amazingly delicious cookies that are an honestly good and mindful way to treat yourself. We all enjoy a sweet now and then, and it can sometimes feel like a guilty pleasure. But what if the treat wasn’t quite so guilty? What if you could indulge, knowing that the ingredients in your cookies were, well, better than a standard cookie and also could fit your lifestyle? That’s what I set out to do with Baked Better.

So, why cookies? Have you ever met anyone who doesn’t like cookies? I’m guessing the answer is no, and there’s a reason for that. Cookies are classic. They’re not trendy. They’re not a fad. And there’s a cookie for everyone. It seems the combination of flavors and textures is unlimited! Sometimes a cookie gives us just that little bit of something to feed our sweet tooth.

So how are these cookies baked better?

That depends upon the eye of the beholder. The Classic Oatmeal Raisin cookies taste amazing and they’re made with gluten-free flour and without eggs or dairy products. The Iced Sugar Cookies look like (and taste better than) those you buy in the store, but they’re made without eggs, dairy, and gluten-containing flours. The sprinkles are colored only with natural food colors derived from plants, fruits, and vegetables.

I come from a family of bakers and cooks. We don’t feel alive unless we’re in the kitchen. A life-long baker, this longing led me to start my own food blog a while back, which I wrote for over three years. I truly enjoyed the journey and sharing recipes with (literally) the world, but something was missing. As I increasingly met people who were faced with dietary restrictions, and I myself was changing my own personal approach to food, I was inspired to start Baked Better to share delicious, mindfully baked cookies directly with my neighbors in the Central Ohio community.
